Our "Island Mix" contains a blend of our premium worm castings, coconut coir, pumice, perlite, and shredded pine barkâwith a biochar and kelp fertilizer boost. Our blends are made to keep your plant roots aerated, all while providing the essential nutrients your plants need to thrive.

Coconut Coir- Provides structure for the roots. Good water retention and low bulk density. 100% Renewable.
Worm Castings-Provides plant nutrients, minerals, and growth hormones. Microbially rich. Improves soil aeration and buffers pH. 100% Renewable.
Pumice- Improves soil aeration and drainage. Retains excess moisture. Pumice does not break down, and since it is heavier than perlite, it will not float to the top of the soil. Pumice is mined from New Mexico.
Perlite- Improves soil aeration and drainage. Perlite will not break down over time. Perlite is a mined product.
Shredded Pine Bark-Improves drainage and aeration. 100% Renewable.
Kelp-Provides trace minerals and vitamins. 100% Renewable.
Biochar-Prevents water and nutrients from leaching, releasing them when your plants need them most. Biochar does not break down and contributes to soil structure. 100% Renewable.

I really liked this soil mix. I liked that it was in a papersack and the potting soil was lightweight and not clumped like many other bagged potting soil. My plants like it too. A little goes a long way.

Mixed in with my new red raspberry plants and seems rich and full of nutrients. Will have to see how they progress next spring.
